After a week of light winds, Livorno woke up
on the final day with a beautiful south-west breeze which touched 20 knots,
conditions that allowed the Race Committee to conduct two perfect races for the
37 boats competing in two ORCi divisions of four classes of the 2010 Italian
Offshore Championship.

Class has held a meeting to discuss plans for its future in the 2011 racing
season, and beyond. In an effort to maximize participation and interest for next
year, the class has decided to announce its 2011 season championship schedule
prior to the next stage of the Audi MedCup in Cagliari.

After a stunning day of extremely close
racing in the final day of GP42 series racing, Madrid-Caser Seguros (ESP) has
emerged as the winner of the Caja Mediterráneo Region of Murcia Trophy, their
second stage win in the 2010 Audi MedCup. The racing in the GP42’s was never

After yesterday’s no-wind conditions and
another hour-long postponement today in hot, muggy conditions, racing in the
Caja Mediterráneo Region of Murcia Trophy was finally underway for the GP42
Series in Stage 4 of the Audi MedCup. Three races were completed in a light 6-10
knot seabreeze.

Audi MedCup Stage 4 in
Cartagena |
|
Stage 4 of the GP42 Series in the Audi MedCup will be underway
shortly in Cartagena, as the postponement flag has been lowered and the teams
are leaving the dock. Yesterday there was no racing for lack of wind, but today
there is a seabreeze forecast for 8-12 knots, with race managers hoping for
three races today.

Esimit Europe 2 sets new course
record |

At 13:02:21 on 20 August Esimit Europe 2
crossed the finish line at Monte Carlo, setting a new race record in 48H 52M
21S, and winning the prestigious Trophy Giuseppe Tasca d'Almerita awarded to the
first-to-finish yacht in the Palermo-Monte Carlo Race.
Skipper Flavio Favini was satisfied with the result.

Coast Race |

In its first use of ORCi scoring for the
25th Audi Sydney Gold Coast Race, the Cruising YC of Australia announced Mark
Bradford’s canting-keeled R/P 66 Black Jack (ex-Stark Raving Mad) won overall,
with an impressive elapsed time of 1:09:33:04 over the 384-mile course. Among
the sixteen entries scored in ORCi.

The 2010 ORC Annual General Meeting will be held in
Athens,
Greece in November 2010. Deadline for the submissions
proposed through ORC Nominating bodies is nine weeks before the meeting what is
for 2010 AGM September 2nd. Submissions may be sent using on-line submission
form.

YC Monaco are expecting their biggest and best turnout
yet for the sixth edition of the Palermo – Monte Carlo Race. This 500-mile race

MedCup’s Camper Regatta - Conde de Godó Trophy – Barcelona saw the team that has

Saturday, 17 July, the third stage of the Offshore Sailing
Estonian Cup came to its finish. The 53rd Muhu Väina Regatta with nearly 600
participants on 89 yachts, which is also the record since regaining of
independence, from five countries covered a distance of 200 nautical miles on
the route Pärnu-Roomassaare-Virtsu-Dirhami.

traditionally an annual event, which is organized by the HORC (Hellenic
Offshore Racing Club). It is the oldest and most prestigious sailing

After a discouraging start to the
series due to lack of wind, the ORC Sportboat European Championship
finally yielded good breeze for good racing, and a new champion is
crowned. After nine races with one discard, Vlas Kadetov's GP 26 Prima
has won on an impressive scorecard of (10)-3-3-5-1-1-3-3-1 in the
25-boat fleet.

After a mostly light air racing held
around Gotland island in three different courses, winners in ORCi
finally emerged last night. HM Harald V’s TP52 Fram XVI led from nearly
start to finish in the 7-boat ORCi Class Charlie sailing the longest
458-mile course, while Lennart Evrell’s Beneteau 40.7 Aida came from
behind.

Race have finished, with Kerma as winner, led by skipper Claes Ahlin.On
course Charlie only four boats have finished at Skanskobb: Fram XVI,
Royal Blue, Camilla and Amber Sail. Of the 106 boats sailing course
Alfa, 22 have finished.

25 boats have
gathered in St.Petersburg for the first ORC European Sportboat
Championship in Russia. Several of them had to travel long distances,
coming to the venue from as far away as Germany, Lithuania, and the
Black Sea. The first part of the series has been plagued by lack of wind.

rounding Östergarn on the eastern side of Gotland Island, class leaders
are starting to emerge in the Eurocard Gotland Runt race, which started
yesterday in Sandhamn, Sweden. This is the largest and most prestigious

With a forecast of
light winds and a waning land breeze, crews racing for the ORCi European
Championship were on the dock early this morning to check weights and
choose their lighter sails for the long offshore race ahead of them
today. But within a few hours a light
southerly seabreeze of 7-8 knots had filled for the fleet.

Over 400 sailors
participating on 34 teams representing four countries will be on the
starting line tomorrow for the first day of the 2010 ORCi European
Championship. Competition will run through Sunday, 11 July in the
beautiful blue Sardinian waters off Cagliari’s Poetto beach, with the
event organized by the Legale Navale Italiano.

types competing in a wide range of conditions, Tim Kroger’s TP52 Audi A1
Team has won Kieler Woche in ORC I, while Philipp Rotermund’s Dehler 35
RS Hochwurden has won ORC II and Johann Friedrichsen’s X-332 Chinook was
on top in ORC III/IV.

football but, regardless of not having sea, are feeling at home in
Adriatic, and sailing well. "Quebramar" skippered by Peter Mosny won
race 5 in Class A, while "Sixtynine" with Richard Schultz was the best
in race 6 in Class B. Two more races are scheduled for the last day.

It's not even certain that wind
will blow in Cres every day. Yestreday there wasn't enough of it, or at
least to have one race. Wind was blowing in morning hours. "Burin" of 7
to 15 knots. Even start was given. But wind was sufficient solely for
first upwind and first downwind leg.

There was 50 nautical miles left
until Cres, second leg of offshore race – from St. Martin’s bay in
Lošinj until the Kovaèine camp finish line in Cres. Passing the finish
line between the buoy and small pier in St. Martin participants of
offshore race the passed by the cemetery of the same name where winner
from Olympics in Helsinki in 1952.

The offshore race started. To
Silba and back. Ideal 115 NM. In the beggining "bura" from 7 to 12
knots. With every mile it was strengthening up to 25 and perhaps a
knot or two more. On Silba there was Robert Radola from "Jonathan
RR" and he registered a gust of wind of 40 knots. Stormy
wind. The whole way reaching.

For a long time there has not been
so wet or cold in Cres. Inhabitants say last 100 years. We have to
beleive them. Only 15 degrees Celsius, for the first day of summer.
Bojan Gale, principal Race Officer checked the "bura's" speed on the
racing area with gusts of 33 knots. Cres is definitely destination where
wind is blowing all the time.

Iberdrola wins Audi MedCup

With no racing again today due to
the Force 6-7 conditions out on the Rade Sud, Iberdrola (ESP) has
managed to keep their two-point lead to win the Marseille Trophy in the
GP42 Series, their first-ever Audi MedCup stage win. The bright green
machine, led by skipper Laureano Wizner (ESP), has shown to be fast in
light air.

the Rade Sud, race organizers at the Audi MedCup declared no racing for
today. This allows Iberdrola (ESP) to continue to enjoy a slim 2-point
lead in the GP42 Series over Madrid-Caser Seguros (ESP). Skipper
Laureano Wizner (ESP) said this morning that he was anxious.

ORC at Rolex Giraglia Cup |

Using ORC scoring of GPH ratings on a time-on-time
basis for a fleet of 88 entries, the results of the event indicate a
healthy diversity of boat types among the top finishers in the 2010
Rolex Giraglia Cup. And even though these results were reported by the
organizing authority only for the more than half of the B Class who
chose ORC.

In a stunning reversal of
yesterday’s mediocre results, Madrid-Caser Seguros (ESP) found their
form in today’s wavy, breezy conditions to post an impressive 2-1-1
string of finishes in the GP42’s three races. This result has vaulted
them from last to runner-up in the standings, and tightened the race in
the 2010 Audi MedCup GP42 Series.

lived in fear of the bright green Iberdrola (ESP), sailed by the Desafio
America’s Cup team to devastating effect to dominate the class during
its 2008 season. Most of that fear had dissipated over the last year as
