ORC International Central European Championship - Cres, Croatia - Final results


Two more races are completed on the last day of the ORC International Central European Championship in Cres. The wind from south west direction came after 1 p.m. but still on time to complete two races before the warning signal time limt that was set up for 15:00. Last two races did not bring changes on the top of any of three classes and the winners just confirmed their victories: "Bohemia Express" in Class A, "Edilcost Shaula III" in Class B and "Escandalo" in Class C

"Bohemia Express" had no right competition in Class A. Czech crew assisted with some Brazilian and Portuguese sailors won 5 out of 7 races with two second places. Italian "Piu Brava" won the second place with 3 points ahead of Slovakian "Quebramar" with Peter Mosny on helm.






The winner of Class B is Italian „Edilcost Shaula III“. Although she scored two fourth places on the last day, this was enough to keep overall victory. Slovakian "Three sisters" won sixth race and finished on 2nd place ahead of Austrian "Ono". Italian boat "Jasmine" won the last race. The best Croatian crew in Class B is "Go! AWT" on 7th place, while Italian "Extra" that finished fourth also had 5 Croatian crew members including helmsman Rajko Kujundzic.

Top three places in Class C were taken by the Italian boats. with 1st and 2nd places "Escandalo" clearly confirmed overall victory ahead of "Squalo Bianco" on 2nd place and "Vag" coming from Pescara on 3rd place. The best Croatian crew on the championship is "Squalo Bianco" with Frane Barbieri on 4th place just 2 points and few seconds behind the 3rd place.

Just after regatta ended, 11 boats have started for Athens to the ORC International World Championship, while ORC Adriatic Challenge Trophy will be concluded in Pescara from 09-13 July
