Vikira, Samba and Monella winners in 11th Yisunsin Cup

20 November 2017

In the only one last decisive race of Day Three, wind conditions were ideal for the finale of the 11th Yisunsin Cup, held this year in Tongyeong, South Korea – with a light breeze up to 12 knots. 45 entries from 5 countries were competing this year in three ORC classes.

In the ORC III class, the local-based Jeanneau Sunfast 31 Monella won the race – overtaking yesterday’s leader - while in ORC II the Russian Salona 37 RK Samba dominated ORC II by continuing its winning strike - with three out of three wins. And in the ORC I class, the competition was very high, with the Korean Ker 40 Vikira winning the race – and with that the championship… by just one point in front of the Russian Beneteau First 40.7 First in an epic finale!

After three days of hard sailing, the sailors celebrated at the prize-giving ceremony – with an appointment to do it all over again next year…
