The
Delfin Sailing Club in Pula, Croatia invites all sailing offshore
enthusiasts to participate in the inaugural Full Moon Regatta, an
overnight race from Pula to the island of Cres to be held from 18 -
20 March. The race will be scored under ORC and has already
attracted teams from the Northern Adriatic region including
Slovenia, Italy and Croatia.
The race will start within the heart of the port of Pula on Friday
March 18th at 18:00. The route as planned is approximately 80 NM
long and will take the teams around the island of Susak and onwards
to the finish line in the port of Cres. This island is a well known
racing destination, having hosted the ORC Worlds in 2011, the ORC
Europeans in 2003 and 2007 as well as the IMS 600 Worlds in 2004.
The organizers hope that this will be the start of a traditional
offshore overnight race that connects these two ports with their
extraordinary nature and history.
In addition to the racing programme, organizers have prepared a
cultural programme together with a special surprise before the start
of the race. A creative challenge has also been announced: the
Delfin Sailing Club is inviting all lovers of the sea and sailing,
regardless of age and profession, to create a work of art inspired
by the regatta. You can photograph, film, draw, paint, sculpt or in
any medium create an artistic object of inspiration.
All submissions will be published online, and the best works will be
awarded at the sailing night manifestation in December 2022. Rules
and conditions of the contest are to be announced. |
