Appendages

Hull offset files include a fixed keel and single rudder set below the hull. Any other appendage such as a centerboard, transom hung rudder, twin rudders, bilgeboards, DSS, or foils is measured separately with its measurements added to the relevant hull offset file.

An appendage is defined in its own coordinating system with a series of points with its x, y and z coordinates describing the 'rondure' of the appendage with associated chord and thickness at each point. Appendage is then positioned to the hull relevant to the hull coordinating system.

Flying Nikka Offset file

Retractable appendages are defined with its fully extended and full raised positions.

MH Offset file

Appendages are measured through the process of hull scanning but may also be taken form the 3D files provided by designer after verification of design file with actual appendage shape.
