Kieler Yacht-Club organises a new offshore regatta. The name ‘400 Islands Race’ alone suggests challenging ocean sailing. In fact, the race starts in Kiel, circles (almost) all of the Danish Baltic Sea islands and returns to Kiel. With the start and finish in front of the historic KYC clubhouse in Kiel-Düsternbrook, sailing enthusiasts in Kiel will once again be able to experience yacht sailing ‘up close’ in June 2026.

ORC mourns the passing of Akis Tsalikis

ORC is saddened to announce the untimely passing of Management Committee member Akis Tsalikis. He died recently in Thessaloniki, the city where he was born and lived his entire life. Akis had a lifelong passion for the sea and sports. For more than thirty years, he made substantial contributions to promoting and improving the ORC system and numerous events and organizations throughout Greek sailing.
Charleston Race Week to Host 2026 ORC Sportboat North American Championship

Charleston Race Week at Patriots Point is proud to announce that the 2026 edition of the regatta will host the ORC Sportboat North American Championship. The approval was confirmed this week by the ORC Management Committee, making Charleston Race Week at Patriots Point the official venue for this major international event.
Race to the Arctic 2026

In June 2026, a new offshore event will be held along the Norwegian coast, designed to combine shorthanded racing with the experience of sailing through one of the world’s most scenic regions. Race to the Arctic 2026 will use the ORC measurement system and Weather Routing Scoring (WRS) to deliver fair and transparent scoring across a series of five stages.
Allegra takes Multihull Cup 2025 title as Falcon takes flight in final race

The Multihull Cup 2025 was held from 25 to 28 September in the waters off Port Adriano (Mallorca). Four boats participated, showcasing four very different multihulls: ranging from the 45 ft foiling Falcon, the 65 ft Morelli & Melvin Gaea, to the Gunboat 72 Layla with a flying bridge, and the 84 ft high-performance cruiser Allegra.

With a three-hour-long Bay Tour race as the final test for competitors, the 61st edition of the Rolex Big Boat Series hosted by St. Francis Yacht Club came to a stunning close yesterday afternoon. The skippers at the top of the podium in the J/105 and ORC B classes were awarded coveted Rolex Submariner Dates. Bruce Stone and Nicole Breault’s ARBITRAGE came away victorious among the J/105s, the regatta’s largest fleet, and Peter Wagner’s J/111 SKELETON KEY was the victor in the ORC B division.

All New World Champions crowned at the Garmin ORC World Championship

After two inshore races sponsored by ALTER MARINE were completed today on Tallinn Bay, three new ORC World Champions have emerged at the 2025 Garmin ORC World Championship. Each had been at the top of their leaderboards for most of the week and have demonstrated their prowess in the mixed format of inshore and offshore racing in conditions that varied from light air to today’s blustery 20-25 knot winds.
