The Offshore Racing Congress (ORC) continues to expand its global footprint with a successful visit to Qingdao, China, during the recent City Clubs Open Regatta. Invited by the China Marina Sports School (CMSS), ORC Chief Measurer Zoran Grubisa conducted a comprehensive programme including a measurement seminar and presentations to both race officials and sailors. The visit marks an important step in the continued development of offshore racing under ORC rules in China.

Race conditions were excellent for the start of racing in the ORC Sportboat North American Championship, with 10-15 knots of combined synoptic and sea breeze winds getting boats in both ORC classes around the course quickly, well ahead of the 4-hour time limit.

Organisers at the Hellenic Ocean Racing Club (HORC) and Olympic Marine have announced that the final version of the Notice of Race is now published for this year’s edition of the AEGEAN 600 that starts on July 5, 2026. The fourth and final stage of this winter season’s Southern Ocean Racing Conference (SORC) concluded last weekend with the Miami-Nassau Race, one of the oldest races of the series having been first sailed in 1934. David Fass and his team on the Swan 42 ZAMMERMOOS have entered the history books by winning this race in both elapsed and corrected time, joining a long list of SORC racing legends from yesteryear that have done the same, including Ted Turner, Dennis Connor, Burt Keenan, Ted Irwin, George Coumantaros and many others.
