In 2027, Copenhagen and Øresund (Skovshoved Harbor) will welcome the world’s best offshore racing teams as the Royal Danish Yacht Club hosts the Garmin ORC World Championship.
The championship will bring together sailors from around the world for a week of world-class racing, strong competition and unforgettable experiences on and off the water.
With its challenging racecourse, rich sailing heritage and easy access from Copenhagen Airport and the city centre, the Øresund provides the perfect setting for one of sailing’s most prestigious events.

Garmin Continues Its Strong Support of ORC Championship Sailing
The Offshore Racing Congress is pleased to continue its successful partnership with Garmin as the title sponsor of the Garmin ORC World Championship 2027 in Denmark.
Garmin has become an important supporter of ORC championship events in recent years, serving as a principal partner of the 2024 ORC European Championship in the Åland Islands, title sponsor of the Garmin ORC World Championship 2025 in Tallinn, and a supporting partner of the 2026 ORC European Championship in Klaipėda.

The event is open to all boats with a valid 2027 ORC International certificate with a CDL between 8.000 and 16.400 included. The flotation date on an ORC International Certificate shall not be earlier than August 6th 2022.
Classes are defined by the CDL, and the minimum and maximum number of entries are as follows:
Class 0: 16.400 ≥ CDL > 13.550
Class A: 13.550 ≥ CDL > 11.270
Class B: 11.270 ≥ CDL > 9.630
Class C: 9.630 ≥ CDL > 8.000
Note: These CDL limits are based on 2026 ORC VPP and may be updated when 2027 ORC VPP become available.

While the 2026 sailing season is in full swing, preparations are already gathering momentum for the next edition of offshore racing’s premier event. Royal Danish Yacht Club welcomes the international fleet back to Copenhagen as the Road to the Garmin ORC World Championship 2027 officially begins.

From 6–14 August 2027, Skovshoved Harbour will welcome the international offshore racing community as the Royal Danish Yacht Club hosts the Garmin ORC World Championship 2027. The world’s top teams will compete for the coveted world title in one of sailing’s premier events, combining challenging racing with exceptional hospitality and a vibrant social programme ashore.
