We’re thrilled to share the highlights from the first leg of the BAYK Winter Trophy, marking several exciting "firsts" in the world of sailing: the first race of the new year and the first offshore event in Turkey using the ORC handicap system for some years!
This milestone event took place in Bodrum, Turkey, where many of the Turkeys major sailing clubs have decided to adopt the ORC system from 2025 and beyond. This reflects a strong commitment to fair competition and the promotion of excellence in sailing.
Despite challenging weather conditions, 27 boats showcased outstanding performances, and the ORC system proved its value in creating a balanced and exhilarating competition. The BAYK organization received well-deserved praise, and participants celebrated their achievements with joy at the award ceremony.
