3 March, 2025 - Altea, Spain - Juan and Thierry Lallemand on Guaguanco IV of CN Altea take first place overall and in ORC B. Modul wins ORC A, and O’Marylou takes ORC C. The 39th edition of the 200 Millas A2 Winter Regatta, organized by Club Náutico de Altea and part of the Spanish A2 (double handed) Offshore Racing Cup, has crowned its 2025 winners.
The father-and-son duo of Juan and Thierry Lallemand from Club Náutico de Altea successfully defended their title from last year, once again claiming victory in this emblematic Mediterranean regatta. With this win, they now boast three triumphs in the 200 Millas A2 (2016, 2024, and 2025).
Guaguanco IV has built an impressive track record in recent years, finishing third at the 2023 A2 World Championship, winning the 2024 300 Millas A3 de Moraira, placing second in the A3 Round Mallorca, and securing back-to-back victories in the 200 Millas A2 in 2024 and 2025.
This edition stood out for its high level of competition, with 30 teams on the starting line, including experienced sailors with strong racing backgrounds. Each year, the 200 Millas A2 de Altea continues to enhance its reputation as a demanding and competitive national event.

A Fast and Intense Edition
The 39th edition of the 200 Millas A2 set sail on the morning of Friday, February 28. Under the direction of race officer Marino Gil, the race committee initiated the start procedure on schedule, and at 12:00 PM, the 30 offshore yachts headed toward Ibiza.
A steady easterly wind of 14-15 knots and sunshine in the Bay of Altea provided perfect conditions for spectators. Club Náutico de Altea arranged for the Mundo Marino catamaran, with a capacity of 120 people, to take guests out to sea to witness the start. Additionally, the Goleta Tirant Primer, operated by the Generalitat Valenciana, carried authorities and event organizers.
It was a fast-paced and intense edition, with Alzira Moraira crossing the finish line first in real-time after 26 hours and 5 minutes, securing the line honors trophy.
As expected for this time of year, the weather played a crucial role in the race, with strong winds and waves testing the crews. The fleet sailed upwind on the first leg to Ibiza in moderate easterly winds. Upon reaching Ibiza, wind strength increased with strong gusts. In Formentera, some teams encountered rain squalls, and on the final leg back to Altea, sailors faced significant swell and stronger winds ranging from 20 to 25 knots.
