Three ORC West Coast Champions crowned

Three new ORC West Coast Champions were crowned in the 60th edition of the Rolex Big Boat Series: Dave MacEwan’s Rogers 46 LUCKY DUCK in Class A, Drew Freides’s Cape 31 PACIFIC YANKEE in Class B and Zach Berkowitz’s J/100 FEATHER in Class C. For winning Class B, Freides also won a Rolex timepiece for his team’s victory in the 7-race series.
Excellent Racing at the 60th Edition of Rolex Big Boat Series

Right on cue, San Francisco Bay rolled out the most demanding conditions for sailors at the 60th edition of Rolex Big Boat Series at St. Francis Yacht Club. A steady 15-20 knots during the first race on Thursday continued to build through Sunday for pure thrills and some spills for the 70 boats competing.

The final day of the 34th Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup and the first Rolex IMA Maxi 1 World Championship was an excellent one. Proteus (Maxi 2), J Class Svea (Supermaxi), Oscar 3 (Maxi 3), H2O (Maxi 4), Gaetana (Multihull) winners in their respective classes.

San Francisco Bay delivered its classic sunny and windy conditions today for the start of four days of racing at the 60th Rolex Big Boat Series, hosted by the St Francis Yacht Club. Among the numerous classes competing here are 25 teams divided into three ORC-scored classes who are competing for titles in the first-ever ORC West Coast Championship.

ORC Announces Hosts for 2025 Double Handed World and Sportboat European Championships

The Offshore Racing Congress (ORC) is thrilled to announce that the ORC Double Handed World Championship 2025 has been awarded to Yacht Club Monfalcone in Italy, while the ORC Sportboat European Championship 2025 will be hosted by Yacht Club Torbole on Lake Garda, Italy.

The outcome of the final two inshore races at the 2024 ORC European Championship has determined three new ORC European Champions: Karl Kwok’s TP 52 BEAU GESTE (HKG) in Class A, Tiit Vihul’s modified X-41 OLYMPIC (EST) in Class B, and Ott Kikkas’s Italia 9.98 SUGAR (EST) in Class C.

Penultimate day of racing today sets up the showdowns for final podium positions tomorrow. Each class had their own course to race today: Class A’s was 46.4 miles in length, Class B was 39.9 miles and Class C was 30.7 miles. Each course had its finish line placed in the harbor at Mariehamn.
Production Boats Lead the Way in Classes B & C at 2024 ORC World Championship

Custom designs and builds remain in the majority among the biggest boats competing in ORC 0 at the 2024 ORC World Championship at the New York Yacht Club Harbour Court in Newport, R.I., September 27 to October 5. In Classes B and C, however, where the boats are almost entirely under 40 feet long, every entry is a production-built boat.
