Yacht Club Scheveningen in collaboration with the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC), will organise the ORC Double-Handed World Championship 2026 during the 2026 North Sea Regatta, the Netherlands’ premier annual sailing event on the North Sea coast and is preparing intensively for it this winter season. From May 18 to 25, 2026, Scheveningen will be in the international spotlight as the host city of the world championship for double-handed crews. In preparation, the club’s entire winter program is dedicated to double-handed sailing, with special gatherings, lectures, and training formats both for World Championship contenders and sailors who want to explore this discipline.

  • Monday 18 May – Registration & Equipment Inspection
  • Tuesday 19 May – Registration & Equipment Inspection
  • Wednesday 20 May – Registration & Equipment Inspection
  • Thursday 21 May – Short Offshore Race
  • Friday 22 May – Sunday 24 May – Long Offshore Race
  • Monday 25 May – Prize Giving & Closing Ceremony

Early Bird Entry fee is valid until March 1, 2026

The venue for the event is Jachtclub Scheveningen in the Scheveningen Harbour, Hellingweg 98, 2583 WH The Hague.

The offshore courses racing area will be the North Sea between the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, with start and finish close to Scheveningen Harbour.

Prizes

  • The ORC DH World champion title will be awarded to the best boat in each class.
  • Prizes will be awarded to the top three boats in each class.
  • Additional prizes will be awarded to top boats in each division: Male, Female and Mix in each class.
Located on the Dutch North Sea coast, Yacht Club Scheveningen is one of the Netherlands’ most active and renowned sailing clubs. With a strong focus on offshore and inshore racing, the club is home to many of the country’s top sailors and regularly hosts prestigious national and international regattas, including the North Sea Regatta.
