34th Edition of Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup Gets Underway in Porto Cervo

The regatta, reserved for yachts over 60 feet (18.30 metres) in length, is organised by the YCCS with the support of title sponsor Rolex - with whom it celebrates 40 years of partnership this year - and in collaboration with the International Maxi Association (IMA).
Production Boats Lead the Way in Classes B & C at 2024 ORC World Championship

Custom designs and builds remain in the majority among the biggest boats competing in ORC 0 at the 2024 ORC World Championship at the New York Yacht Club Harbour Court in Newport, R.I., September 27 to October 5. In Classes B and C, however, where the boats are almost entirely under 40 feet long, every entry is a production-built boat.
Teams From Around the World Head to the Åland Islands for 2024 ORC European Championship

57 entries from 10 nations in Europe and beyond begin registration Friday, with racing to start on Monday. Teams are gathering now at Mariehamn, the Åland island venue near Finland that is hosting the 2024 ORC European Championship. Organizers for this event held over August 9-17 include the Finnish Offshore Racing Association and Åländska Segelsällskapet (ÅSS) under the authority of the Finnish Sailing Federation under the overall authority of the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC).
The 42nd edition of Palma’s showcase Copa del Rey MAPFRE moves into action

One the extensive race docks around the Real Club Náutico de Palma crews are making their final preparations in ready to take on the 42nd Copa del Rey MAPFRE regatta. More than 120 teams from 23 different nationalities, from first time amateurs to America’s Cup winners, Ocean Race winners and Olympic medallists, are all set to convene on the Bay of Palma over the coming days, contesting the top prizes which will be awarded at Saturday’s prizegiving.

The changes to the rules announced immediately on finishing last year’s 41st edition of the Copa del Rey MAPFRE ahead of the European Championships 2025, has created a completely new list of favourites for the podium of the Altavista ORC 2. The two main reasons are firstly, that the fastest boats from 2023 are now participating in the Odilo ORC 1 class, and secondly, that the fastest boats in the ORC 3 class have now been integrated into the Altavista ORC 2.

One of the most competitive fleets in the 42nd edition of the Copa del Rey MAPFRE is the “Odilo ORC 1” class, due to the homogeneity of its boats, and is likewise the most international group competing, with 12 countries registered across the 22 teams.
