The final countdown has started, and just two weeks remain until the start of the first major regatta of the 2024 season of ORC Championship events. The second edition of the ORC Double-Handed European Championship will be sailed along with the historic offshore regatta La Duecento, a 200-mile course in the upper Adriatic, now in its 30th edition.

Just two months remain until the exciting voyage through Norway's heart begins, and the ORC Double-Handed World Championship 2024 lineup is truly impressive! The competition promises to be fierce with 75 entries representing 8 nations – including the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and Sweden.

It is now less than 100 days to the 7 July start of the 2024 AEGEAN 600, the annual offshore race organized by the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club in conjunction with Olympic Marine. This spectacular 605-mile race starts at Cape Sounion under the watchful gaze of the ancient Temple of Poseidon for a scenic tour of 23 islands of the Aegean archipelago before finishing back at Cape Sounion.

33-meter Gelliceaux (Southern Winds/Farr Design), with a scoreline of 1-3-3, won the coveted Bucket Trophy award for being the yacht that prevailed in the class with the closest, most competitive racing. That class was L’Esprit 1 , with six teams competing.

Over one hundred teams from 20 nations have confirmed their participation in the 20th edition of PalmaVela, to be held at the Real Club Náutico de Palma from 26th April to 5th May. The event will include three acts: the Offshore Race, the opening event of the 52 Super Series 2024 and the traditional multiclass PalmaVela regatta.

The Offshore Racing Congress (ORC) is pleased to announce the new rules and regulations for this year’s 2024 season of racing are now available online. These rules cover a range of topics related to fair handicap racing held among a broad range of boat types, from Sportboats to Superyachts to Multihulls.

Organizers at the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club (HORC) are pleased to announce the 2024 edition of the AEGEAN 600 is open for entry. The event is being held from 5-13 July 2024 and is co-organized by the host venue at Olympic Marine.

A significant innovation from the ORC International Technical Committee is the development of weather routing scoring, where a boat’s time allowance against her competitors will be calculated using a predicted elapsed time based on weather routing each boat around the course. The use of weather-routing scoring gives the competitors the full benefit of the ORC system to give scoring that reflects the boat and the race conditions.

Thirty Racer and CruiserRacer designs from 14 US states enjoyed ideal reaching conditions for the 60-mile 67th annual edition of the Wirth Munroe Race from Miami to Palm Beach on December 1st. This race is the second in the SORC’s Islands in the Stream series, a coastal classic dating back to 1957, and this year featured perfect southeast breezes of 12-15 knots and warm South Florida temperatures.

The Superyacht Cup Palma invites entries over 24m in length and to ensure fair racing will use ORCsy rating rules and scoring, including the new Weather Routing Scoring method pioneered by ORC. For the first time the J Class entries will also use ORCsy rules and scoring.

Registration for the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta 2024 is officially open as of today. The event, supported by Giorgio Armani, one of the most iconic Italian brands in the world, will take place from 4th to 8th June and is open to Superyachts with a minimum length of 90 feet. Once again for the 2024 edition, the Southern Wind RendezVous and Trophy will be held as part of the event.
