The South Atlantic Circuit 2025

January 20, 2025 - Buenos Aires, Argentina - One of the most prominent and highly anticipated events of the year approaches: the “Rolex South Atlantic Circuit 2025”, co-organized by the Yacht Club Argentino and the Yacht Club Punta del Este, with sponsorship from ROLEX.

From Saturday, January 25, to Monday, February 3, various crews from Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil will compete in the waters of the popular Uruguayan coastal city.

This edition will feature 75 boats, including:

• 40 boats from Argentina (35 in the ORC category and 5 in J/70),
• 7 boats from Brazil (2 in ORC and 5 in J/70),
• 1 boat from Ecuador (1 in ORC),
• 27 boats from Uruguay (15 in ORC and 12 in J/70), making up a total of 500 crew members.

Event Schedule

Friday, January 24 – Captain’s Meeting & Welcome Cocktail

• At 18:00, the captains’ meeting will take place, followed by a cocktail reception at our Dársena Norte headquarters.

Saturday, January 25 – Official Opening & Start of the Race

• 08:30 – Breakfast for the crews.

• 10:00 – Official opening ceremony of the Rolex South Atlantic Circuit, featuring the traditional parade of boats in front of the main mast at Dársena Norte headquarters, accompanied by the Argentine Naval Prefecture Band, as family and friends bid farewell to the fleet.

• 12:00 – Start of the ORC Formula Race.

Sunday, January 26

• The first boats are expected to arrive in Punta del Este.

Race Schedule for ORC Formula & ORC Sportboat

• Tuesday, January 28 – 13:00: Windward-Leeward races in Punta del Este (ORC & ORC Sportboat). Followed by an After Race at YCPE.

• Wednesday, January 29 – 13:00: La Barra Circuit Race (ORC & ORC Sportboat). Followed by an After Race at YCPE.

• Thursday, January 30 – 13:00: Windward-Leeward races in Punta del Este (ORC & ORC Sportboat). Followed by an After Race at YCPE. 21:00: Owners’ Dinner at the Yacht Club Punta del Este.

• Friday, January 31

• 11:00 – The circuit concludes with the traditional Gorriti Island Race (ORC & ORC Sportboat).

• 18:00 – Award Ceremony for ORC & ORC Sportboat at the Yacht Club Punta del Este.

Awards & Recognition

Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the ORC & ORC Sportboat categories.

• The “Buque Correo” Cup will be presented to the first boat to cross the finish line in the Buenos Aires – Punta del Este race.

• Rolex will award a watch to the overall winner of the ORC Formula category in the Rolex South Atlantic Circuit 2025.
