VPP-based rating systems have become interesting for their potential to objectively handicap various boat types common in today’s modern racing fleets. ORC has been at this since the advent of IMS over 30 years ago and is now the largest measurement-based handicap rating system in the world, issuing >14,000 certificates in 40 countries, including the US.

The organization has developed innovative and relevant systems for measurement, rating and scoring that meet the needs of race committees and sailors who want fair and accurate results for any style of racing, inshore or offshore, club-level or Grand Prix.
