The restructuring of all the ORC divisions for the 42nd edition of the Copa del Rey MAPFRE has been in view of the 43rd edition of the competition, which will be hosting the European Championships 2025.

The changes to the rules announced immediately on finishing last year’s 41st edition of the Copa del Rey MAPFRE ahead of the European Championships 2025, has created a completely new list of favourites for the podium of the Altavista ORC 2. The two main reasons are firstly, that the fastest boats from 2023 are now participating in the Odilo ORC 1 class, and secondly, that the fastest boats in the ORC 3 class have now been integrated into the Altavista ORC 2.
Rose delivers the first Superyacht Cup Palma title defence in 22 years

Classic Bay of Palma sailing conditions delivered exceptional racing across the board to conclude the Superyacht Cup Palma 2024. Class A win is decided by one second on corrected time. In Class B last year's overall winner, the nimble 24m Wally Rose, took her second race win to again take the Superyacht Cup Palma Trophy, the first successful title defence since Kokomo way back in 2002.

Two months ahead of the 42nd edition of the Copa del Rey MAPFRE, the competition has already registered over one hundred entries. Noteworthy is the fact that more than half of the teams registered belong to the ORC class, proving their vouched interest and support of the European Championship being organized by the Real Club Náutico de Palma and the Offshore Racing Congress in 2025 for the 43rd edition of the Copa del Rey MAPFRE.

The 13th edition of the Superyacht Challenge Antigua (SYCA) was held in fantastic conditions off the South Coast of Antigua with Tradewinds ranging from 13-20 knots. Five days of racing were held rounding deep water and inshore marks, making full use of Antigua’s ocean swell and stunning coastal vistas.

A mix of conditions decide ORC NSW Championship 2024

A light weather day on the water helped decide the final outcomes of both the ORC NSW Championship, supported by Sydney Marine Brokerage and the Pittwater Regatta, organised by the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC). Coming into the day’s trio of windward/leeward races on the Palm Beach Circle, winners of Divisions 1 and 2 of the ORC NSW Championship were all but decided, as both leaders had already won the previous three races.

No races were completed today in Day One of the 2023 ORC Mediterranean Championship in Sorrento, Naples, Italy. After a long postponement ashore a promising breeze arose of about 7 knots under light overcast skies in the early afternoon. After a good start, the fleet set off for the windward mark, rounded and then set off for the leeward gate while the wind lightened and shifted. But gradually the breeze died and the races were abandoned on boat courses.
