The countdown has begun for the 51st edition of the Conde de Godó BMW Sailing Trophy, which will take place from May 29 to June 2 in the waters of Barcelona. The competitions will include the J70, ORC, and ORC Double Handed.

From May 8th-11th in Sorrento and May 17th-19th in Napoli, Italy, teams worldwide participated in the ORC Mediterranean Championship and the 69th edition of the Regata dei Tre Golfi.

The Offshore Racing Congress (ORC) and the Portuguese National Cruise Association (ANC) or with the sponsorship of SAILFIX, the support of the Portuguese Sailing Federation and the Port of Lisbon, organize the ORC INTERNATIONAL (WEB)SEMINAR LISBON 2024 from May 31 to June 2, at the ANC headquarters in Lisbon.

Only one race in on the second day of the ORC Mediterranean Championship, also valid as the Central and Lower Tyrrhenian National Championship. The Ker 46 Lisa R leads the standings with one day to go.

The picturesque Bay of Palma bore witness to a momentous occasion as the 20th edition of PalmaVela drew to a close on Sunday, May 5th. With over a hundred boats gracing the waters, spanning thirteen diverse categories, this year's event showcased the epitome of sailing excellence and camaraderie.

Three new champions emerged as 2024 European champions in each of three ORC DH classes: Massimo Juris and Pietro Luciano (ITA) competing on their JPK 10.80 COLOMBRE in Class A, Antonio Di Chiara and Walter Svetina (ITA) on their First 40.7 TASMANIA in Class B, and Vladimir Borstnar and Bojan Gale (SLO) sailing their J-99 JOY in Class C.

At the invitation of the Buffalo ORC group chaired by Jack Kitrenos, US Comms Director Dobbs Davis gave a two-hour presentation of the ORC system to an assembled group of 50 people from the US and Canada at the spectacular Kleinhans Symphony Hall near downtown Buffalo.

With just a couple of hours remaining until the start of the ORC European Double-Handed Championship, anticipation is high for the sailing community. This championship will be contested during the 30th edition of La Duecento, a renowned 200-mile race organized by Circolo Nautico Porto Santa Margherita (CNSM) in the upper Adriatic. This is the second edition of the ORC DH European championship, an anuual event co-organized by the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC).

The Class40 Vaquita crossed the finish line positioned in front of the Naval Academy in Livorno first, followed by just one minute by the SunFast 3600 Lunatika, winner overall and Double Handed under both, ORC and IRC corrected time.

The upcoming ORC DH World Championship to be held in June in Norway and ORC European Championship in the Aaland Islands in August has prompted ORC, KNS and the Finnish Offshore Association to organize recent seminars and promotions led by ORC Chief Measurer Zoran Grubiša.

As the ORC DH European Championship 2024 in Caorle approaches, we are happy to introduce some participating teams. Please meet Massimo Juris and Pietro Luciani: a dynamic duo in offshore sailing, with a long list of achievements in ocean sailing.

Shortly after 18:00h on Sunday April 28, “Smerit” the Swan 45 from the Club Vela Blanes, competing in the A2 0-3 category was the first boat to finish the 185-mile course after more than 30 hours of sailing. One hour and 57 minutes later they were followed by Daniel Martín’s “Barakah,” with his teammate ocean racing sailor Didac Costa.

Lunatika, the Sunfast 3600 skippered by Guido Baroni in Double Handed with Alessandro Miglietti, already overall winners of the 2023 edition of the Regatta of the Naval Academy, was the first boat to round the mark in front of the Faraglioni of Capri on the morning of April 26.
