In less than one week and for the first time in 24 years an ORC World Championship will commence at the New York Yacht Club in Newport, Rhode Island. This event, co-organized with the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC), features competitive inshore and offshore racing among 43 yachts from throughout the US and around the world that range in size from 30 to 52 feet in length.

ORC mourns the recent passing of John D. Osmond III, MD, who passed away on September 20, 2024 at his home on Cape Cod.

The fourth edition of Ibiza JoySail surpassed expectations on all levels. The largest ever number of entries with eighteen superyachts registered, the biggest superyacht to ever to take part in the event, some fantastic racing and a hospitality programme for 400 participants, sponsors and organisers.

The final day of the 22nd Rolex Swan Cup treated the fleet of competitors to a beautiful day at sea, the best possible invitation to return for the next edition in 2026. The light easterly wind, which increased from 8 to 12 knots, allowed a coastal race to be held for the classes competing in compensated time, and two windward-leeward races for the Swan One Design classes.

Ibiza JoySail continues to confirm its position as a key event in the superyacht calendar with a second day of racing in the beautiful waters off Ibiza, in the Spanish Balearic Islands.

Ibiza JoySail, now in its fourth year and one of the key events at the end of the Mediterranean superyacht calendar, started today in glorious style with an opening race around the island of Formentera, which lies to the south of Ibiza.

32 suggestions were made from 9 nations to improve the world's largest measurement-based rating system. These will be discussed over November 1-5 in Singapore, where the Committee and Congress members, Staff and observers of the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC) will meet at their Annual Meeting.

This year marks 40 years of partnership, dating back to 1984 when the third edition of the Swan Cup adopted its current name.

Three new ORC West Coast Champions were crowned in the 60th edition of the Rolex Big Boat Series: Dave MacEwan’s Rogers 46 LUCKY DUCK in Class A, Drew Freides’s Cape 31 PACIFIC YANKEE in Class B and Zach Berkowitz’s J/100 FEATHER in Class C. For winning Class B, Freides also won a Rolex timepiece for his team’s victory in the 7-race series.

Right on cue, San Francisco Bay rolled out the most demanding conditions for sailors at the 60th edition of Rolex Big Boat Series at St. Francis Yacht Club. A steady 15-20 knots during the first race on Thursday continued to build through Sunday for pure thrills and some spills for the 70 boats competing.

On the penultimate day of racing at the 60th edition of the Rolex Big Boat Series, the cool windy conditions returned to provide two great races for the ORC classes racing on San Francisco Bay in the 2024 ORC West Coast Championship.

The final day of the 34th Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup and the first Rolex IMA Maxi 1 World Championship was an excellent one. Proteus (Maxi 2), J Class Svea (Supermaxi), Oscar 3 (Maxi 3), H2O (Maxi 4), Gaetana (Multihull) winners in their respective classes.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the ORC Congress this year will be held in a hybrid format. All attendees, whether participating in person or virtually, must register to access the full content and videos of the AGM.

The breeze ticked upwards to a solid 20+ knots on Day Two of the 60th edition of the Rolex Big Boat Series, also the 2024 ORC West Coast Championship.

San Francisco Bay delivered its classic sunny and windy conditions today for the start of four days of racing at the 60th Rolex Big Boat Series, hosted by the St Francis Yacht Club. Among the numerous classes competing here are 25 teams divided into three ORC-scored classes who are competing for titles in the first-ever ORC West Coast Championship.
