The Long Offshore Race, the most demanding stage of the 2025 Garmin ORC Double-Handed European Championship, is well underway in the Gulf of Finland. After a light-wind start on Wednesday, July 9, in the afternoon, the fleet of 33 double-handed teams from seven nations set out on a challenging course of up to 280 nautical miles, putting their endurance, strategy, and seamanship to the test.

A total of 35 boats representing 12 nationalities, all closely matched in length and performance, will line up in Ubico ORC B, the largest and one of the most competitive classes at the 43 Copa del Rey MAPFRE.

The 2025 Garmin ORC Double Handed European Championship got underway in Helsinki with the Short Offshore Race on Tuesday, July 8. This marked the official start of racing after days of measurement, safety checks, and a practice race. Hosted by Helsingfors Segelklubb (HSK), the opening day tested both teams and race management with shifting wind conditions and an evolving weather pattern.

The countdown is over – the 2025 Garmin ORC Double-Handed European Championship has officially begun in Helsinki. Organised by the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC) in collaboration with Helsingfors Segelklubb (HSK) and the Finnish Offshore Sailing Association, the event welcomes some of the top double-handed teams from around the Baltic Sea to race under the magic of Finland’s “nightless nights.”

At the very southern end of the Greek mainland at Cape Sounion in Attica, today’s start to the 5th edition of the AEGEAN 600 was perfect: cloudless blue skies, crystal clear waters and perfect 12-15 knots of northerly wind to propel the fleet on its upcoming 605-mile odyssey through the Aegean Sea.

Nearly all 60 teams are assembled here at the Olympic Marine venue getting ready for the Sunday July 6 start of the 5th edition of the AEGEAN 600, organized by the Hellenic Offshore Race Club (HORC) with co-organizers being Olympic Marine and Region of Attica.

The 2025 International German Championship (IDM) Offshore was held in two parts: the coastal race Aalregatta, sailed on June 21, and the long offshore race Silver Band Race, raced on June 27-28. The 2025 Offshore Champions are XR41 eXciteR in ORC A+B, Italia 9.98 patent 4 in ORC C+D, and Bernd Dreier and Jan Assmann won the double-handed title.

The inshore portion of the championship concluded with six races completed for the fleet of 33 boats, divided into two groups by size. Despite two windless days, the event was deemed a success, with fair competition across the board and clear results after discarding each team’s worst score.

After completing the full schedule of races - 9 in the ORC 1 class and 10 in the ORC 2 and 3 classes - three new ORC North American Champion teams have been crowned today at the Storm Trysail Club’s 31st biennial Block Island Race Week. FOX, ZAMMERMOOS and TEAMWORK are the 2025 ORC North American champions.

With three days of racing completed over seven Windward-Leeward courses, the scorelines are filling up for all three classes competing in the first ORC North American Championship at Storm Trysail Club’s Block Island Race Week. Racing has been held in near-ideal 7-15 knot wind speeds on all three days to promote close combat conditions in all classes.

International German Championship (IDM) gold went to the Danish crew of “Formula X” with professional skipper Jesper Radich (Group A+B) and to the Flensburg-based “Sydbank” skippered by Torsten Bastiansen (Group C+D).

Starting June 23, an assembled fleet of 26 entries divided into three classes will start competing in the first-ever ORC North American Championship, embedded within the 31st edition of the Storm Trysail Club’s biennial Block Island Race Week. The race format for the week will consists of several Windward-Leeward races sailed on courses set up in Block Island Sound, and on one day midweek all entries will participate in a coastal race around the island.

The second edition of the Cyclades Cup, held 12–15 June 2025 in the heart of the Aegean,
has drawn to a close – affirming its place as one of the most distinctive and
atmosphere-rich superyacht regattas on the international calendar.

The Espoo-Naissaari Race, held from 6 to 8 June 2025, brought together 17 double-handed offshore teams for a 143-nautical-mile course between Haukilahti in Espoo and Pentala Island. This year, the event also served as the Finnish ORC Double-Handed Championship, with national titles awarded in two classes: ORC A and ORC B.

The second edition of the Cyclades Cup is now underway in breathtaking Antiparos, Greece, running from June 12 to 15, 2025. Set in the dazzling heart of the Aegean, this unique event gathers some of the world’s finest superyachts for an unforgettable celebration of sailing, elegance, and performance.

The 72nd edition of the Loro Piana Giraglia, the oldest offshore regatta in the Mediterranean, opened with the registration on Thursday, 5 June. One hundred thirty-nine yachts are set to line up on the starting line, with a schedule that includes four days of inshore racing in Saint-Tropez, from Saturday, 7 to Tuesday, 10 June, and the offshore leg starting at noon on Wednesday, 11 June.

The 52nd edition of the Trofeo Conde de Godó BMW crowned its champions after a thrilling final day, which featured the last two races of the event. The winners were: Aproperties Blue Carbon (ORC 0), Soler Cabot (ORC 1), Windwhisper44 (ORC 2), Falapouco (ORC 3), Lassal (ORC 4-5), Shaka (ORC A Dos), Odysseus (Promoción), Noticia (J70), and RCNB (Godó Women’s Cup).

The 2025 edition of the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta and the Southern Wind RendezVous concluded today with another outstanding day of racing. The event is organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda with the support of title sponsor Giorgio Armani.
